Can a Pell grant be used to attend college in Canada?

Can a Pell grant be used to attend college in Canada?

If the school is eligible for any federal student aid, whether it is a U.S. school or an approved international institution, then students can use their Pell grants there.

There are around 93 Canada schools that have been approved for federal student financial aid. The easiest way to see if the school you are thinking of is approved is to check the federal school codes list. (Canadian schools start on pg. 143.)

Or you can call the school's financial aid office and double check.

The government tends to qualify as many schools as it can for Pell grants, so that students have a wide choice of where to spend their financial aid.
