FAFSA Online Application IRS Share

The FAFSA online application IRS data sharing is a feature that will make my life easier, so I will use it.
Verification would slow down the process of getting financial aid, but all my information is correct so it does not scare me.
Anything that means less effort for families will probably be welcomed by most. In this day and age, its probably too late to worry about privacy issues. All government agencies can get your information anyway; this just makes it a little easier for them. Easier for them, easier for us-- so what's the problem?
My guess is that the printable FAFSA application would be much more likely to be picked for verification, because it would have to be reviewed more intensely. If you do the online application form and do not choose to import your tax information, that might seem a little strange, but as long as there are no discrepancies in the actual financial information, they probably won't care.
The hard part is realizing that your financial information will not be private if your kids go to college. Once you get past that, anything that makes doing your FAFSA easier is worth it.
