Federal Pell Grant Changes...Horrible

by KB
(Livingst, LA)

They are hurting me. I cannot afford to go to school without this grant, and it appears that the grant is not going to pay my full cost of attendance.

Answer:

I know students who have received significantly more Pell grant money than they should have this year to compensate for these adjustments. Go to your financial aid office and ask them to make an adjustment in your cost of attendance. Explain that without this change you will not be able to attend school.

The U.S. Department of Education is sympathetic to the idea of EFC data input changes. Financial aid administrators are encouraged to use their professional judgment in making changes for individual students. More often than not, these changes result in more financial aid for college.
