Federal Pell Grants Highest Award?

by Amanda
(Alabama)

What are the annual limits for federal Pell grants?

ANSWER:

Right now the highest award you can get is $5,550. That is for full-time study. For 3/4 time, it is $4,163. Half-time is $2,775 and for less than half-time, the highest possible award is $1,388.

Although these amounts were supposed to be fixed for next year (and go up slightly after that) there is a shortfall in the Pell grant program that needs to be addressed by Congress. If more money is not appropriated, these limit will fall.
