I Was Denied a Pell Grant

by Veronica Price
(Grandview, MO)

I was denied a Pell grant due to my student loan being in default. However, I have made scheduled regular payments toward my student loan and can prove those payments. My default will be cleared on my 9th payment in October. I was approved for loans and I am enrolled in school and really need my grant. Please advise on who I need to speak with concerning this issue. The federal guidelines do say I am eligible if I can prove that I have made arrangements.

ANSWER: The simplest thing to do if you have been officially informed that your default will be cleared, is to make an appointment with a financial aid administrator at your school, bringing all the documentation from the Department of Education.
