Pell Grant Question

by dean
(el paso tx)

A Pell grant student is in the military do they claim Bah under housing section of FAFSA form for 2010-2011.

Answer:

Students are not supposed to include the value of BAH in FAFSA calculations. This is stated on the printable form (45 g) "Don’t include the value of on-base military housing or the value of a basic military allowance for housing."

If you are using your Post 9/11 yes you claim the BAH portion of it. I have been having to claim it for the past 2 years on my financial aid.
